The Teresian Association in Spain and InteRed have launched several initiatives to help the people affected by the recent floods. The storm caused widespread damage and a high number of deaths as it passed through Valencia and other regions of the country.

We would first like to mention that the Valencia Local Team (Amparo Alcalá, Nieves Ara, Loreto Ballester, M Ángeles Lorente and Asunta Nicolau) are very grateful for all the messages of solidarity and affection that they are receiving at this difficult time from the Association everywhere and not only from Spain.

They also stressed that the TA members and their families so far have not been greatly affected by the catastrophe, but they are hearing of more and more serious problems involving people they know.

Collection in the El Almerlar School

In view of this situation and with the aim of offering support to the victims, the El Armelar School, the InteRed Foundation, the Alumni Network and the Teresian Association of Valencia have launched an appeal for drinking water, non-perishable food, children's items, and hygiene and cleaning products.

The collection will be carried out as follows:

  • Dates: Tuesday and Wednesday 5 and 6 November.
  • Time: 8:30 am to 9:15 am and from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
  • Place: Colegio El Armelar. Pista de Ademuz km.5, Paterna, Valencia.

Distribution to the affected areas will be made through the official channels established by the Generalitat Valenciana. The Vice Presidency of Social Affairs is the designated channel in this case.

In addition, the InteRed Foundation assures us that they are working to organise another collection centre, which they will inform us about shortly.
